DG ISPR: India Sponsoring Terrorism in Pakistan, Faced a Strong Military Response

Islamabad:Director General of Pakistan Army’s Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, has accused India of actively sponsoring terrorism in the region, particularly in Pakistan. In an interview with a foreign news channel, he emphasized that understanding the India-Pakistan tensions requires knowing their deeper context.

General Chaudhry stated that India is the “real patron” behind the terrorism plaguing Pakistan — whether it is the militant group Khawarij or insurgents active in Balochistan. He accused India of hiding behind false narratives to cover up its actions, citing the Pahalgam incident, where Indian media blamed Pakistan within minutes, even before any investigation had begun.

He revealed that when Pakistan demanded evidence and proposed involving a neutral investigative body, India rejected the offer and instead launched unilateral strikes, including missile attacks on mosques and civilian areas, resulting in the deaths of women, children, and the elderly.

According to the DG ISPR, on the night of May 6 and 7, India fired missiles at Pakistan, prompting the Pakistan Air Force to shoot down five Indian aircraft. He stressed that the armed forces and the nation stood united like a solid wall. On May 10, Pakistan retaliated with a “measured and responsible” response, targeting only Indian military installations and avoiding civilian casualties.

General Chaudhry further disclosed that following Pakistan’s decisive response, India’s Ministry of Defence formally requested a ceasefire. “We want peace and stability,” he said, adding that Pakistan’s diplomatic corps engaged the international community effectively to explain its stance. “We are not a violent nation; we are responsible and peace-loving. Our top priority is peace,” he emphasized, noting that even major powers like the U.S. understand the resilience and determination of the Pakistani people.

This strong rebuttal from the Pakistani military comes amid escalating regional tensions, painting a complex picture of South Asia’s security landscape.
