Best Time to Buy Cheap Fruit During Ramadan Revealed

Islamabad: During the holy month of Ramadan, fruits become an essential part of every iftar table. However, soaring prices often put a strain on household budgets, especially as demand peaks before sunset.
Vendors typically raise fruit prices in the hours leading up to iftar, as most customers head out for shopping after Asr prayers. Shopkeepers are aware that buyers, rushing to prepare for iftar, are more likely to purchase at higher rates. As a result, this period is considered the most expensive time to buy fruit.
Fruit sellers usually bring fresh stock from the wholesale market early in the morning, aiming to sell it all within the same day. While sales remain strong and prices high until iftar, customer traffic drops sharply afterward.
This is when prices begin to fall significantly. Rather than carrying over unsold stock to the next day, vendors prefer to sell remaining fruit at lower profit margins. Reports suggest that fruit prices can drop by Rs 50 to Rs 100 after iftar and continue to decline late into the night. Shopkeepers often agree to sell at reduced rates to clear stock and prepare for fresh supplies the following day.
For families looking to stay within budget, shopping for fruit after iftar presents a golden opportunity to secure better deals during Ramadan.
