Rana Sanaullah Warns PTI Founder Against Street Protests During Ramadan

Islamabad (Qudrat Daily) – Advisor to Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Political Affairs, Rana Sanaullah, has warned that if movements like the Suhail Afridi Street Movement are pursued, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) may have to suspend meetings during Ramadan.

Speaking on Geo News’ *Capital Talk*, Rana Sanaullah said the PTI founder does not wish to remain in jail even for a single day, highlighting that his living conditions there are “A-one” and medical treatment has been excellent. He criticized PTI’s call for a nationwide protest on February 8, stating that it was unrealistic to expect the entire country to shut down. Rana Sanaullah added that such protests and sit-ins suggest either a conspiracy against PTI or the PTI founder himself.

He recalled advising PTI on November 26 to relocate their protest from D-Chowk to Singjani, a suggestion that was initially accepted but later ignored. Rana Sanaullah also claimed that decisions during the PTI founder’s tenure were influenced by Bashir’s directives, a claim he said is backed by evidence.

PTI leader Barrister Umair Niazi, participating in the program, said that within the party there is no internal dispute regarding these matters. He emphasized that the PTI founder had explicitly authorized leaders like Allama Raja Nasir Abbas and Mehmood Khan Achakzai to negotiate or organize protests.

Umair Niazi added that the PTI founder is not seeking personal favors, and while his cases are ongoing in courts, the system is attempting to pressure him into submission, which he refuses to do. He further noted that no politician has spent as many consecutive days in jail as the PTI founder has. Regarding Aleema Khan, Niazi stated that she plays no role in PTI politics but is advocating for her brother’s release.
