Sohail Afridi Reaches PTI Worker Ishtiaq’s Home in Lahore

Lahore (Daily Qudrat): Severe tension and bitter exchanges were witnessed during a condolence visit at the home of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf worker Ishtiaq in Lahore.

According to reports, when Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi and the party’s Central Secretary General Barrister Salman Akram Raja arrived to offer Fateha for the deceased’s family, a bitter exchange of words erupted over the unusual and heavy presence of Punjab Police personnel.

It was reported that upon seeing Punjab Police officers and heavy barricading outside the worker’s home, KP Chief Minister Sohail Afridi lost his composure and harshly rebuked the police personnel. Addressing the police officers, he said that we have not come here to hold any kind of political rally or procession. First, you people martyred our man, and on top of that you are adopting this attitude? Don’t you people have even a bit of shame?

Speaking in a highly emotional manner about the police’s conduct and the alleged incident, he said that first you people martyred a lover of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) by throwing him into a cauldron, and on top of that further obstacles are being created. Ishtiaq was our active worker — you martyred him and on top of that such actions are also being taken.

It has been learned that during this condolence visit, PTI senior lawyer Barrister Salman Akram Raja and Opposition Leader in the Punjab Assembly Moeen Qureshi were also present alongside KP Chief Minister Sohail Afridi. A very large number of PTI workers and ordinary citizens gathered outside the martyred worker Ishtiaq’s home.
