Murad Ali Shah Rejects Calls for New Province, Promises Stronger Local Development in Sindh

Islamabad: Murad Ali Shah, Chief Minister of Sindh, dismissed recent calls for the creation of a new province, urging critics to “remain silent.”
Speaking at the inauguration of the Khalid Bin Waleed Flyover in Malir, Karachi, Shah said, “Sindh will remain united. If anyone is thinking of breaking Sindh, they are not thinking in the interest of Pakistan.”
He emphasized the government’s focus on strengthening local government institutions, stating that it is not the Prime Minister’s role to deal with minor civic tasks like covering sewer manholes.
Shah also highlighted ongoing development projects in Karachi, noting that he had challenged the city’s mayor to complete a bridge within 100 days and now presented a new challenge to construct the Azeem Pura Flyover. “We will provide Karachi with the infrastructure it deserves,” he said, underlining the provincial government’s commitment to urban development.
