PkMAP Condemns Gang Rape and Murder of Woman in Jamshoro, Demands Swift Justice

QUETTA: The Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party (PkMAP) has strongly condemned the alleged gang rape and brutal murder of a Pashtun woman, identified as Bibi Sabira, in Sindh’s Jamshoro district, calling the incident “inhumane and deeply tragic.”

In a press release issued from its central secretariat, the party described the incident as a heinous crime against humanity and a direct attack on societal and moral values. The victim, a pregnant mother of four, was reportedly subjected to sexual assault before being murdered. Her body was later recovered in a mutilated condition.

PkMAP expressed grave concern over what it termed the failure of the district administrations and police in Jamshoro and Hyderabad to take timely and effective action despite being informed by the family following her alleged abduction. The party said negligence and delays in such sensitive cases raise serious questions about the performance of law enforcement agencies.

According to the statement, Sabira Begum earned a living by selling clothes door-to-door to support her children. Her disappearance for several days, followed by the recovery of her body, has sparked widespread anger and grief.

The party demanded the immediate arrest of all individuals named in the FIR and called for the case to be tried on a priority basis to ensure exemplary punishment for those responsible. It also urged federal and Sindh authorities to conduct a transparent, impartial and high-level investigation, regardless of the influence of those involved.

PkMAP further called for full legal protection and financial assistance for the victim’s family to ensure they can pursue justice without pressure or obstacles. It stressed the need for decisive action against criminal elements and any forces backing them to prevent similar incidents in the future.

The statement emphasized that ensuring women’s safety is a constitutional and moral responsibility of the state, adding that no civilized society can claim dignity if its women feel unsafe.

The party expressed complete solidarity with the bereaved family and vowed to raise its voice on every forum until justice is served. PkMAP Hyderabad leaders, including District Secretary Javed Agha, Shafi Khan, Qasim Khan and other members, are reportedly in continuous contact with the family and authorities. The party also said it is consulting with political and social organizations in Hyderabad to develop a joint course of action.

PkMAP warned that if peaceful engagement and legal efforts fail to yield results, it reserves the right to pursue all democratic and protest options to seek justice.
