Shocking Details Emerge from Islamabad Mosque Suicide Attack Investigation

ISLAMABAD: Investigations into the suicide bombing at a mosque and Imambargah in Islamabad are ongoing, revealing startling new details about the attack.
Sources indicate that the attacker fired two shots on the way to the mosque and six shots inside the hall before detonating the suicide device. Approximately 4 kilograms of explosives were used in the attack, with a high number of ball bearings to maximize casualties.
The attacker reportedly traveled from Nowshera wearing a suicide vest and used public transport to reach Islamabad. Prior to the attack, he spent some time in a nearby hotel before walking to the mosque via Khanna Road. Sources further reveal that the attacker had conducted reconnaissance of the mosque on February 2. Earlier, he had traveled to Afghanistan in May and returned in June. Upon returning, he activated a new mobile SIM card in Bajaur.
It is recalled that on February 6, the suicide bombing at Khadija-tul-Kubra Mosque and Imambargah in Tarlai, Islamabad, killed 33 people and injured more than 150 others.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident and are working to trace any networks connected to the attacker.
