Severe Gas Pressure Shortage in Balochistan: Pakhtunkhwa National Awami Party Delegation Meets SSGC Officials, Assured of Line Upgrades

**Karachi (Daily Qudrat Quetta):** Amid a severe gas pressure crisis in Balochistan due to intense cold and snowfall, a delegation of the Pakhtunkhwa National Awami Party (PkNAP) held a detailed meeting with senior officials of Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) at its head office in Karachi.
The delegation was led by PkNAP Balochistan President Nasrullah Khan Ziaray and party’s National Jirga member Fazal ur Rehman Alkozai. They met Senior General Manager SSGC Madni Siddiqui. General Manager Farooq Khan, Kashif Siddiqui, and other senior and concerned officials of SSGC were also present on the occasion.
During the meeting, serious discussions were held on the alarming decline in gas pressure in Quetta city and other districts of Balochistan caused by ongoing severe winter conditions and snowfall. The delegation highlighted that low gas pressure has created immense hardship for the public, severely disrupting daily household life.
Particular concern was expressed over gas shortages in various areas of Quetta, including Shaldara, Pashtun Dara, Haji Ghaibi Road, Sariab, Takhtani Bypass, Khalji Colony, Barich Colony, Muslim Ittehad, Mahmood Mina, Barich Abad, Satellite Town, Faqir Abad, Killi Bileli, Killi Sheikhhan, Deeba, Pashtun Abad, Sirki Road, Landi Pashtun Abad, Khaliq Abad, Wazir Kasi Karez, Tarkha Nau Hisar, Nawan Killi, Kuchlak, Sara Ghorhgai, Kotwal Main City, Hazarganji, Pashtun Bagh, Khurot Abad, Hazara Town, and other adjoining localities.
The delegation submitted written memorandums and proposals to SSGC officials, calling for the installation of new gas pipelines, upgradation of old lines, and permanent solutions to the issue.
SSGC officials assured the delegation that immediate and practical measures would be taken to improve gas pressure in Quetta and other affected areas during the ongoing winter season. They informed that in several localities, gas pipeline diameters would be increased from one inch to four inches, while work on the installation of TBS (Town Border Station) and PRS (Pressure Regulating System) would also begin soon.
The officials emphasized that these steps aim to ensure improved, uninterrupted, and continuous gas supply to the public during the harsh winter season, thereby reducing the difficulties faced by residents.
