Contradictions Seen in Stance of Several Parties on Balochistan Mines and Minerals Act: BAP Spokesperson

Quetta: The central spokesperson of the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) has expressed serious concern over what he described as clear contradictions between the statements and actions of several political and religious parties regarding the Balochistan Mines and Minerals Act.
In a statement, the BAP spokesperson said that while BAP maintains the same position in parliament and before the public, some political and religious parties are adopting a dual approach. He alleged that these parties support the Mines and Minerals Act within parliamentary committees, but outside parliament they mislead the public through protests, loud rhetoric, and legal challenges, which he termed an unsuccessful attempt to deceive the people.
The spokesperson stated that a religious party supported the Mines and Minerals Act in the relevant committee, only to temporarily suspend and later restore the party membership of its legislator as a symbolic move to mislead the public, despite holding a contradictory stance inside parliament.
He further alleged that a nationalist party remained involved behind the scenes in running the former government of Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo for a long period. According to him, one of its current members of the assembly also supported the Mines and Minerals Act in the committee, while the party continued to present itself as part of the opposition before the public merely for show.
The BAP spokesperson also raised questions about the conduct of certain Baloch and Pashtun nationalist parties in the present assembly. He claimed that their members sit on opposition benches while simultaneously benefiting from government and personal privileges, accusing them of misleading the public by raising opposition slogans while remaining part of the government system. He termed this approach a deception of the people.
He said that adopting one position inside parliament while resorting to protests, court cases, and public agitation outside amounts to keeping the public in the dark. He also criticized non-parliamentary elements, which he said have already been rejected by the people, for attempting to mislead the public through meetings and media statements despite having no role in parliament.
The BAP spokesperson asserted that the Balochistan Awami Party is the only political party that has never shown any contradiction between its words and actions. He emphasized that the party has presented the same stance in parliament as it has before the public.
Concluding his statement, he said that the people of Balochistan now need to understand the true reality of such parties. He reaffirmed BAP’s commitment to maintaining a clear, principled, and transparent position, and to continuing to present facts honestly before the public.
