Corruption Exposed in Pishin Municipal Corporation’s Rs 14 Crore Tenders; Contractors Demand Inquiry

**Quetta (Daily Qudrat Quetta):** Contractors in Pishin have raised serious allegations of corruption in the issuance of municipal corporation tenders worth approximately Rs 14 crore. Contractors Malik Haider and Naseebullah criticized the Chief Officer for favoring selected contractors, bypassing merit, and undermining the legal tendering process.
The contractors stated that over 45 tenders were advertised, but despite completing all required legal procedures and submitting bids on time, many deserving local companies were disqualified without notice. Instead, the contracts were allegedly awarded to a few “preferred” contractors through collusion with the Chief Officer, effectively depriving genuine bidders and violating principles of transparency and merit.
Speaking at Quetta Press Club, Malik Haider and Naseebullah demanded that the tenders be immediately canceled and a thorough, transparent inquiry be conducted. They highlighted that the Chief Officer reportedly enjoys political backing and is manipulating the tendering system to benefit select individuals, depriving genuine contractors of their rightful opportunities and jeopardizing public projects.
The contractors also urged the Chief Secretary of Balochistan, Pishin’s elected representatives—including Asfandyar Khan Kakr, Syed Zafar Ali Agha, and MPA Asghar Ali Tarin, Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee—to take immediate notice of the illegal tendering practices and ensure that future projects are awarded transparently and in the public interest.
