Punjab Launches New Housing Project for Low-Income Families, Over 37,000 Homes Planned

Lahore – Following the directive of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, a new housing initiative for low-income families has been launched, aiming to construct over 37,000 homes on 2.5 to 3 marlas of government land.
Imran Ali Sultan, Project Director of Punjab Affordable Housing, briefed Housing Minister Bilal Yaseen that, in collaboration with the World Bank, construction will begin across 35 sites in 25 districts, including Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Multan, Sialkot, Layyah, and Khanewal.
According to Minister Bilal Yaseen, construction work on government land will commence within the next three months with the support of the private sector. Providing homes to deserving families remains one of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s top priorities.
He added that under the “Apni Chhat Apna Ghar” program, over 500,000 homes are expected to be completed within five years. The Affordable Housing Project will also set minimal installment amounts to ensure accessibility for low-income families.
