Pakistan and UAE Release Tentative Public Holiday Schedules for 2026

**Islamabad (Qudrat Daily):** The tentative schedule for public holidays in Pakistan for the year 2026 has been released, although officials have clarified that dates are subject to change annually.

In Pakistan, public holidays mark national, religious, and social occasions and are observed in government offices, educational institutions, and many private organizations. According to available information, the first public holiday of 2026 is expected on February 5 for Kashmir Day.

Religious holidays include Eid-ul-Fitr from March 21 to 23 and Eid-ul-Adha from May 27 for three days. Labour Day will be observed on May 1, while Youm-e-Takbeer will fall on May 28. During the Islamic month of Muharram, holidays are expected on June 25 and 26 for Ashura.

National days include Pakistan’s Independence Day on August 14, Eid Milad-un-Nabi on August 26, and Iqbal Day on November 9. Holidays for Quaid-e-Azam Day and Christmas will also be observed, with December 26 reserved exclusively for Christian employees.

Meanwhile, the United Arab Emirates has also released its tentative public holiday schedule for 2026, which includes a total of twelve holidays. These include New Year’s Day on January 1, three days of Eid-ul-Fitr, Youm Arafat on 9th Zul-Hijjah, three days of Eid-ul-Adha, the Islamic New Year on 1st Muharram, Eid Milad-un-Nabi on 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal, and the UAE National Day from December 2 to 3.

Officials have emphasized that these schedules are provisional and final dates will be confirmed after official government notifications.
