Housing Schemes for Flood Victims Underway in Karachi and Other Cities, Says Sharjeel Memon

Karachi:Senior Sindh Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has said that development projects worth Rs1,018 billion have been approved in Sindh, with a strong focus on rehabilitation of flood-affected areas, education, health, and improved connectivity.

According to reports, Sharjeel Memon stated that housing schemes for flood victims are currently underway in Karachi and other cities across the province. He said that rebuilding flood-affected communities remains one of the government’s top priorities.

Providing further details, the provincial minister said that Rs340 billion has been allocated for the reconstruction of 1,600 schools damaged by floods. He added that nine cadet colleges are being established, while a women’s university is also under construction in Sukkur.

Sharjeel Memon also said that Rs69.97 billion has been earmarked for the Sindh Solar Energy Project in the energy sector. In addition, work is progressing on major infrastructure initiatives, including the Ghotki–Kandhkot Bridge and the Dhabeji Industrial Zone, which are expected to support economic growth and public welfare in the province.
