Why the Chief of Defence Forces Notification Has Not Been Issued Yet — Khawaja Asif Explains

Islamabad — Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has clarified the ongoing speculation surrounding the notification of the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF). In a statement shared on the social media platform X, he confirmed that the process for issuing the notification has already begun.
There is unnecessary and irresponsible speculation about CDF notification. Please be informed that the process has been initiated. PM is returning shortly. Notification will be issued in due course of time. No room for any conjecturing. Period!

He urged the public to remain informed and patient, noting that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is returning to the country soon and that the notification will be issued at an appropriate time.
The position of Chief of Defence Forces was created under the 27th Constitutional Amendment, replacing the now-abolished office of Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, which officially ceased to exist on 27 November.
Khawaja Asif reiterated that the notification will be released within the scheduled timeframe and stated that there is no room for further speculation on the matter.
