PkMAP Condemns Violence Against PTI Founder’s Sisters and Workers, Calls for Free and Fair Elections

Quetta: The Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) has strongly condemned the violence, including the use of water cannons, against the sisters of PTI founder Imran Khan, as well as party lawmakers and workers. The party stated that the state is employing “brutal authoritarian tactics” to suppress political opposition.
In its official statement, PkMAP said that constitutional and legal norms are being violated to maintain what it described as an “unrepresentative and illegitimate ruling regime.” The party noted that the country’s most popular political leader is being kept in solitary confinement, while his family members, party leadership, and even an elected provincial chief minister are being denied visitation rights despite court orders.
PkMAP also expressed deep concern over a recent armed attack on the house of an elected PTI senator in Peshawar, calling it a troubling sign of escalating political and state-level crises.
The party reiterated that the only solution to Pakistan’s current political and institutional turmoil lies in restoring democratic supremacy, ensuring full implementation of the Constitution, and upholding the rule of law.
PkMAP demanded the immediate release of Imran Khan and all political detainees, the formation of an independent and impartial election commission, and the holding of free and transparent elections. It emphasized that only a fully empowered parliament emerging from such elections should determine the future direction of the nation.
