Major Terror Plot Foiled in Balochistan, Multiple Incidents Claim 3 Lives, Several Injured

Quetta: A major terrorism plan has been foiled in Balochistan after police recovered a large cache of explosives in Loralai, while separate incidents across the province resulted in the death of a student and a woman, and left several others injured.

According to details, Loralai police conducted a successful intelligence-based operation in the Pooree Tak mountain area, recovering a significant quantity of explosive material. Addressing a press conference, DIG Loralai Range Junaid Ahmed Sheikh along with SSP Dr. Fahad Ahmed confirmed the seizure of 10kg TNT, 8kg black explosive material, 4 improvised explosive devices (IEDs), 11 detonators, 6 meters of safety fuse, and 165 rounds of SMG ammunition. Authorities said the recovery helped prevent a major act of terrorism, and operations against anti-state elements will continue.

Meanwhile, a tragic incident occurred in the Chhattar area of Naseerabad where a man was allegedly killed by his own son. Police said the suspect, identified as Mansoor Sمالانی, shot and killed his father Muhammad Yaqoob Sمالانی and later buried the body in a local graveyard before fleeing. Police have launched a search operation after sealing the area.

In another incident, a student named Abdul Ahad Mahesar drowned while swimming in the Mithri Nadi in the Kachhi district. Locals recovered his body after a two-hour search and handed it over for burial, leaving the community in grief.

In Lasbela’s Othal area, a laborer identified as Naresh from Sindh died on the spot after receiving an electric shock while working on marble installation inside a house in the Kumbhar locality.

Separately, a road accident in Usta Muhammad left a woman dead and a young man seriously injured after a motorcycle lost control at high speed near Bilidi Bypass.

In additional incidents in Sohbatpur and Dera Murad Jamali, six people were injured in separate clashes and traffic accidents. Four individuals were wounded in a tribal armed clash in Sohbatpur, while others sustained injuries in motorcycle collisions and road mishaps in Dera Murad Jamali.

Police said investigations into all incidents are ongoing as authorities work to maintain law and order across the region.
