KP Chief Minister Criticizes Unwarranted Political Interference, Vows to Restore Peace in the Province

Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohaib Afridi has said that individuals who have no role in politics are still interfering, creating complications in governance and public service delivery.
Addressing a joint gathering of the police force and civil administration officers, the Chief Minister said the current situation in the province is extraordinary, noting that KP has been on the frontline of terrorism for four decades. He praised the police for fighting terrorism bravely for 21 years despite limited resources.
Afridi said the sacrifices of the police force are a matter of pride for the entire nation. “If we fight for the sake of Allah and in the interest of the public, victory will be ours. We will restore peace in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at all costs. Closed-door decisions will no longer be accepted,” he added.
The Chief Minister announced that the police will be equipped with bulletproof vehicles, modern weapons, and anti-drone systems. He emphasized that lack of resources will not be allowed to hinder security efforts. He also said a special policy will be introduced for the families of martyred civil servants, and political interference in administrative matters will not be tolerated — though officers must deliver results.
Afridi reiterated that his government has a zero-tolerance policy toward corruption and that public officers’ performance will be measured under strict performance indicators. “With faith, courage, and determination, we will defeat terrorism,” he said.
Senior officials including the Chief Secretary, Inspector General of Police, additional chief secretaries, divisional and district administration officers, and a large number of police officials attended the event. Special prayers were offered for the martyrs of the police and civil administration.
The Chief Minister further remarked that it is unfortunate that some people who have no role in politics continue to interfere. “Those whose responsibility is to deliver justice often fail, worsening the situation,” he said. Afridi added that his government is working according to Imran Khan’s vision to provide relief to the public and make decisions in their interest.
