Chairman of Pakistan’s Moon Sighting Committee Meets Pope Leo at Vatican, Discusses Interfaith Harmony

Vatican City : Chairman of Pakistan’s Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, **Maulana Syed Abdul Khabir Azad**, met **Pope Leo**, the spiritual leader of the Catholic Christians, at the **Vatican City**, where both leaders discussed the promotion of **interfaith harmony, peace, and mutual respect** among global faith communities.

According to a report by **Pakistan Television (PTV)**, the meeting focused on **global peace, the spread of Pakistan’s “Paigham-e-Pakistan” narrative**, and other matters of mutual interest. Religious scholars, clerics, and representatives from various faiths across the world also attended the interfaith gathering.

During the meeting, **Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad** emphasized the importance of fostering peace through dialogue and understanding, urging world leaders and faith representatives to **end violent tendencies and promote respect for humanity**.

**Pope Leo** thanked all participants, saying the world today needs **interfaith harmony more than ever before**. He highlighted the growing importance of interreligious dialogue in overcoming hatred and division.

Maulana Azad also presented **Pakistan’s national peace narrative “Paigham-e-Pakistan”** to Pope Leo, which the Pope greatly appreciated.

Later, Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad extended an **invitation to Pope Leo to visit Pakistan**, underscoring the country’s commitment to peace, tolerance, and religious coexistence.
