Pakistan Navy Rescues Family Trapped in Sri Lanka Floods for Five Days

Islamabad (Qudrat Daily) — Pakistan Navy continued its humanitarian relief operations in flood-hit Sri Lanka for the third consecutive day, successfully rescuing families stranded due to severe flooding caused by a recent storm.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), a Pakistan Navy helicopter deployed on the naval ship *PNS SAIF* rescued a family that had been trapped for five days. The rescued family also included a seven-month-old infant.

During the joint operation with local Sri Lankan authorities, Pakistan Navy personnel airlifted stranded residents from rooftops and transported them to safer locations, despite challenging weather conditions and rising floodwaters.

The rescue and relief activities conducted by *PNS SAIF* include evacuation, distribution of aid, and provision of medical assistance. The Navy’s efforts underline Pakistan’s commitment to humanitarian support and reflect the deep-rooted friendship, regional solidarity, and strong cooperation between Pakistan and Sri Lanka, the spokesperson added.
