Aleema Khan Warns Against “Irresponsible Remarks,” Says Public Anger Could Become Uncontrollable

Islamabad: Aleema Khan, sister of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder, issued a strong warning on Friday, criticizing those who made comments suggesting people should “offer prayers for Imran Khan.” She said such remarks were shameful and could inflame public sentiment.
Speaking to the media outside the Islamabad High Court, Aleema Khan said, *“Those talking about offering fateha for Imran Khan should be ashamed. Who told them to say this? If even a single hair on Imran Khan’s head is harmed, the nation will show them what happens next.”*
She said the confrontation outside the court was not initiated by PTI supporters but by police personnel. *“We told the police, ‘You are our children; we do not want chaos.’ Across Pakistan—in the police, bureaucracy, and institutions—people are with us at heart,”* she added.
Expressing concern over rising youth frustration, Aleema warned authorities not to push the country toward a point where public anger becomes uncontrollable. *“Seeing the anger of young people frightens me. Do not push Pakistan to a stage where public emotions cannot be controlled. When you place thieves and looters on top, unrest spreads. The rulers want chaos. They should be ashamed for saying fateha should be offered.”*
Aleema further criticized the judiciary and police, claiming that the Islamabad High Court proceedings lasted only 15 minutes and that police were refusing to comply with a three-member bench’s orders, calling it “contempt of court.” She said she had requested Chief Justice Sarfraz Dogar for an open-court discussion.
She accused the authorities of deliberately creating a situation that could drive people onto the streets. *“Look at the mood of the Pakistani people. If anything happens to the PTI founder, those responsible will not be safe anywhere—inside or outside Pakistan. Overseas Pakistanis are angry too,”* she warned.
