Deadlock With PTI Remains Intact, Says Rana Sanaullah

Lahore: Senior PML-N leader and Adviser to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs, Rana Sanaullah, has said that dialogue with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) remains in complete deadlock, and any progress would only be possible if PTI as a party—and its founder—publicly disassociate themselves from the events of May 9 and apologise.
Speaking on Geo News’ program *Geo Pakistan*, he said that if the PTI founder sticks to his previous statements, the stalemate will continue. He added that earlier attempts to negotiate with PTI failed due to the party founder’s own rhetoric.
Rana Sanaullah warned that if PTI continues the pattern of staging protests near Adiala Jail every Tuesday and Thursday, the government may consider relocating the PTI founder to another jail.
He said that both PTI and its founder have directly criticised state institutions, adding that “people will not accept conversations against national institutions.”
Commenting further, he said India is Pakistan’s enemy, yet the PTI founder supported its propaganda. Under such circumstances, he said, establishing any formal mechanism for dialogue with PTI is not possible.
He added that PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto has always maintained a clear, democratic approach and has advocated dialogue. “We wanted all political parties to engage in talks,” he said, noting that the DG ISPR himself had urged political forces to resolve matters among themselves.
