Celina Jaitly Breaks Silence on Domestic Violence Case, Vows to Show ‘No Mercy’

Mumbai — Bollywood actress Celina Jaitly has publicly addressed, for the first time, the domestic violence case and divorce proceedings against her husband, Austrian businessman Peter Haag. In a detailed Facebook post, she opened up about the emotional turmoil she has been facing and vowed not to show mercy in her pursuit of justice.

According to international media reports, Celina thanked her legal team for standing by her during what she described as the most challenging phase of her life. Celina and Peter Haag married in 2011, and she shared her heartfelt note alongside an old photo of herself in a saree standing near a window.

Beginning her post with hashtags related to courage and divorce, she wrote about the “stormiest and darkest phase” of her life—a period she never imagined she would have to face alone. She said the pillars she relied on, including her parents, brother, children, and the man who had promised lifelong support, all seemed to collapse at once.

Expressing herself in a poetic tone, Celina wrote:
“Life stripped me of everything. The people I trusted walked away. The promises I believed in broke in silence. But I did not drown. The storm did not break me; it threw me out of the depths and introduced me to the woman who can survive without support. I am a soldier’s daughter — courage, discipline, resilience, fire, and faith run in my blood. I have learned to rise after falling, to fight with a broken heart, and to show no mercy when I face injustice.”

She added that even during these personal struggles, she is fighting for her army officer brother, who has been detained in the UAE for a year. Celina said her first priority is to fight for her brother’s freedom, her children’s well-being, and her own dignity.

Celina also paid tribute to her legal team, Karanjawala & Co., for standing as a shield during her darkest hours. She noted that since the case is ongoing, she cannot comment further.

On Tuesday, Celina officially filed a domestic violence case against Peter Haag under the Domestic Violence Act, accusing him of abuse, misconduct, and mental harassment. She has reportedly sought ₹50 crore in damages, including compensation for loss of income and property.

Peter Haag, an Austrian businessman associated with the hospitality industry, married Celina in 2011. The couple has three sons — twins Winston and Viraj (born 2012) and Arthur (born 2017). Their fourth son, Shamsher, passed away due to a heart condition.
