Fatima Sana Shaikh Opens Up About Unhealthy Eating Habits: “I Know What I’m Doing Is Not Right

Islamabad (Qudrat Daily) — Bollywood actress Fatima Sana Shaikh has revealed that she is struggling with eating habits she believes are unhealthy and harmful for her well-being. She also opened up about her complicated and “toxic” relationship with food.

Speaking recently, the 33-year-old actress from Indian-held Kashmir said she has been dealing with a condition for the past year that causes her to eat large amounts of food in a short time — something she feels she has no control over.

In a conversation with former actress and VJ Rhea Chakraborty, Fatima admitted she is “extreme” when it comes to food and body balance. She described her eating habits as toxic and said she often ends up hating herself because she cannot stop eating and then feels distressed afterward.

Recalling her intense training routine for the 2016 film *Dangal*, Fatima said the habit began during that period. She used to train for three hours a day, followed by a 90-minute gym session, after which she was required to consume 2,500–3,000 calories daily to gain weight for the role. “The training ended, but the eating habit stayed,” she said, adding that she no longer feels fit or healthy because of it.

“I feel embarrassed because I know what I’m doing is not right, and it’s damaging my mental health,” the actress confessed. She added that she has a love–hate relationship with herself and is overly conscious about her public image.

Fatima Sana Shaikh will next be seen alongside actor Vijay Varma in *Gustakh Ishq*, directed by Vibhav Puri. The film is set to release on November 28.
