Yashma Gill Reveals Father Didn’t Speak to Her for a Year After She Joined Showbiz

**Islamabad:** Pakistani television actress Yashma Gill has revealed that her father stopped speaking to her for nearly a year after she decided to pursue a career in the showbiz industry.
Speaking during a Ramadan transmission on a private TV channel, the actress shared details about the early days of her career and the challenges she faced within her family after choosing acting as a profession.
Gill said she began her career after returning to Pakistan from Australia, where she had completed her studies. She explained that she had always been drawn to the entertainment industry and therefore chose showbiz as her professional path. Over time, she established a strong position in the Pakistani drama industry and continues to move forward in her career.
According to the actress, her father initially opposed her decision because of the general perception about the showbiz industry. When she formally began acting, he was upset and stopped talking to her for about a year.
Gill said the situation changed during Ramadan when she greeted her father and he finally responded, marking the beginning of reconciliation between them. Later, when she planned to perform Umrah, she needed a *mahram* to accompany her and requested her father to travel with her. He agreed and went with her on the pilgrimage.
She added that during the trip, her father observed the respect and recognition she received from people because of her work. This experience gradually changed his perspective, and he realized that his daughter might have chosen the right path.
Following the journey, their relationship improved significantly and they grew closer. Gill’s heartfelt story has also gained attention on social media, where fans have appreciated her honesty and the reconciliation with her father.
