Pakistan Sets Target to Export USD 200 Million Worth of Meat to Malaysia Annually

Pakistan has decided to boost its exports by setting an annual target of **USD 200 million in meat exports to Malaysia**, marking a significant step toward expanding the country’s presence in international halal food markets.
A high-level meeting of the Prime Minister’s Committee on Meat Exports to Malaysia was held yesterday, jointly chaired by **Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Haroon Akhtar Khan** and **Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan**.
Key government officials and private-sector stakeholders attended the meeting, which aimed to review challenges, evaluate existing recommendations, and outline a future strategy for enhancing meat exports to Malaysia.
The committee formally proposed the target of **USD 200 million per year**, calling it a major breakthrough for Pakistan’s meat industry.
Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan highlighted that the government, in collaboration with private exporters, is developing a **joint business model** to make meat supply chains more efficient, organized, and faster.
According to the official statement, work is also underway to find a feasible solution for the export of **bone-in meat**, which could further expand market opportunities in Malaysia.
