Khawaja Asif Speaks in Trump’s Language to Please Him”—Ex-Senator Hafiz Hamdullah Criticizes Defence Minister

**Loralai:** Former Senator and JUI leader **Hafiz Hamdullah** criticized Defence Minister **Khawaja Asif**, accusing him of making misleading statements about religious seminaries and mosques in Islamabad. Speaking to journalists and PTI participants at the home of former PTI Balochistan President **Jalal Shah Akhundzada** in Loralai, Hamdullah rejected Asif’s claim that thousands of seminaries in Islamabad were built on encroached land.
Hamdullah called Asif’s statements false and politically motivated, saying that such remarks have no connection to the teachings of **Allama Iqbal**, **Maulana Abdul Hakim Sialkoti**, or freedom movement heroes like **Maulana Ubaidullah Sindhi**. He added that Asif, like former President Musharraf, tries to please U.S. leaders—specifically former President Trump—by tailoring his rhetoric, but institutions such as seminaries, mosques, and students endure beyond any individual.
On constitutional matters, Hamdullah said the **26th Amendment** was passed under its terms, but the **27th Amendment** contradicts the spirit of the 1973 Constitution and should be rejected. He emphasized that neither a field marshal nor the president is above the Constitution or law, and any claim of exemption violates Islamic principles.
Hamdullah asserted that until the **establishment’s intervention ends**, Pakistan’s political system remains controlled, and only Allah safeguards the country. He expressed readiness to engage all political parties to uphold constitutional supremacy.
He criticized the current Parliament and government as being formed through coercion and “boot power,” calling their mandate illegitimate. He warned that without free, fair, and immediate elections under an independent election commission, the country will continue to face **political stagnation, economic crisis, unemployment, insecurity, and terrorism**.
Regarding opposition leadership, he noted that **Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman** declined the offer to become opposition leader and expressed no objection to **Mahmood Khan Achakzai** assuming the role.
Hamdullah’s remarks underscore JUI’s call for political reform, adherence to the Constitution, and an end to undue establishment influence in Pakistan’s governance.
