Drama ‘Case Number 9’ Sparks Debate Over Judiciary Dialogue After YouTube Clip Removal

Islamabad: The TV drama *Case Number 9*, hosted by renowned journalist Shahzeb Khanzada, has captured viewers’ attention since its early episodes. The series highlights serious issues such as sexual harassment and rape in offices and institutions, while also exposing flaws and complexities in the legal and investigative systems.


A recent episode featured a dialogue that went viral on social media, referencing Justice Ayesha Malik, Justice Mansoor Ali Shah, and parliamentary supremacy. In the scene, a character remarks, *“Justice Mansoor Ali Shah would have become the Chief Justice of the country if the 26th Constitutional Amendment hadn’t blocked his path.”*


The clip was widely shared online, prompting discussions and debates among viewers. Social media users questioned the authenticity and implications of the dialogue. Wasim Abbasi commented that the line seemed as if it had been written by a journalist.


Several users noted that the dialogue was removed from the official YouTube upload of the episode. Wasim Malik highlighted that the crucial and direct scene is missing from **Episode 17** on Geo’s official YouTube channel. Another viewer, Saqib Basheer, asked whether the dialogue was actually part of the original script.


*Case Number 9*, aired on Geo TV, centers on the story of a rape survivor and her struggle for justice. The role of the survivor is played by Saba Qamar, while Faisal Qureshi portrays the perpetrator. Shahzeb Khanzada’s wife, Rishna Khan, plays the role of Faisal Qureshi’s character’s wife in the drama.
