The Azad Kashmir Assembly comprises **53 members**, requiring support from at least **27 members** for the election of the Prime Minister. PPP secured a simple majority after a dinner at **Sindh House, Islamabad**, on October 26, attended by 27 assembly members. On the same day, 10 ministers from the **PTI Forward Block** joined PPP after meeting **Faryal Talpur**, strengthening the party’s position in the house.
According to the constitution, a no-confidence vote must be conducted **within seven days** of presenting the motion. The assembly speaker conducts the vote, and if successful, the nominated leader becomes the new Prime Minister. If the motion fails, another no-confidence motion cannot be filed for six months.
If the motion succeeds, this will mark the **fourth Prime Minister** during the current **five-year constitutional term**, following three predecessors who have already left office.
