AJK Police Chief Accuses Mischievous Elements of Spreading False Propaganda About Kashmir Situation
Muzaffarabad: Inspector General of Police for Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Liaqat Ali Malik, has accused disruptive elements of spreading false propaganda regarding the law and order situation in the region.
Speaking at a press conference in Muzaffarabad, the police chief said that new narratives and misinformation campaigns are increasingly being generated through artificial intelligence and digital platforms to mislead the public.
He alleged that a foreign media outlet recently published a report containing baseless and factually incorrect claims, including accusations that authorities had blocked a vehicle carrying food supplies. According to Malik, such allegations were unfounded and did not reflect the reality on the ground.
The IG further stated that members of a banned organization had been involved in obstructing roads, looting vehicles transporting food supplies, and assaulting drivers. He said these actions had created disruptions in certain areas and contributed to the spread of misleading information.
Malik emphasized that the Azad Kashmir Police remain committed to protecting the lives and property of citizens and maintaining public order throughout the region.
Providing an update on accessibility, he said that all roads across Azad Kashmir are currently open, with the exception of a few areas in Rawalakot where restrictions remain in place.
The police chief urged the public to rely on verified information and avoid sharing unconfirmed reports that could contribute to confusion and unrest.
