Pak-US Relations Vital for Both Nations and the World, Says Pakistani Ambassador

Boston: Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, has emphasized that relations between Pakistan and the United States are not only crucial for the two countries but also have global significance.
Speaking at Boston University’s Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies, Ambassador Sheikh highlighted the multidimensional nature of Pak-US relations, noting that strong ties between the two major nations are not optional but indispensable. The event, organized by the university’s Center for Asian Studies and School of Global Studies, was attended by students, faculty, diplomats, and international affairs experts.
Ambassador Sheikh underlined that the economic dimension of Pak-US relations is a top priority and that promoting cooperation, rather than competition, globally is key to a better future.
In a discussion with Dean Emeritus Professor Adil Najam, the ambassador reviewed the historical, current, and future aspects of Pakistan-US relations. He pointed out Pakistan’s strategic geopolitical and political significance and described the country as an important global player.
While historically Pak-US relations were often viewed through the lens of security, Ambassador Sheikh said the contemporary focus is on fostering strategic partnerships based on economic collaboration.
Responding to questions, he highlighted Pakistan’s ongoing democratic progress and key achievements in its evolutionary journey. In his closing remarks, Ambassador Sheikh stressed the global necessity of mutual cooperation for a more stable and prosperous future.
