Historic Wildfire in Los Angeles Destroys Mansion of World’s Biggest Lottery Winner

Islamabad:A catastrophic wildfire that has been raging since Tuesday in Los Angeles has become the worst in the city’s history, claiming the mansion of Edwin Castro, the winner of the world’s largest lottery prize. The fire, which has affected over 12,000 homes and buildings, has forced more than 200,000 people to evacuate.

New evacuation orders were issued for some areas, and the fire has tragically claimed the lives of 16 people, with hundreds more injured. Thirteen people remain missing, and search operations are ongoing. The initial damage estimate from the fire is approximately $150 billion.

The Pacific Palisades area, home to Hollywood A-listers and billionaires, has been severely impacted. Many well-known Hollywood celebrities, including Kim Kardashian, have had to leave their multi-million-dollar homes, while others have had their properties engulfed by the flames.

Among the many properties destroyed was the luxurious mansion of Edwin Castro, a California resident who won the world’s largest lottery prize last year. In February, Castro won over $2 billion in a lottery ticket, which led him to purchase a lavish Hollywood Hills mansion for more than $25 million.

Castro’s property featured five bedrooms, six bathrooms, and was located above the famous Chateau Marmont hotel. Unfortunately, this magnificent retreat was destroyed by the devastating fire.

The mansion was situated near the homes of prominent celebrities, including singer Ariana Grande and actress Dakota Johnson.

Los Angeles, the hub of America’s film and television industry, has been severely affected by this fire, which began in the western part of the city on January 7. Not only have actors and their residences been impacted, but the fire has also caused delays in Academy Award nominations, movie premieres, and various Hollywood events.
