Missing NCCIA Deputy Director Case Takes New Turn; Shocking Revelations in Court

Islamabad: The case regarding the recovery of the **missing Deputy Director of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA)** has taken a dramatic new turn, with surprising revelations emerging during today’s hearing.
According to *Express News*, the Islamabad High Court heard the petition filed by the missing officer’s wife for his recovery. During the proceedings, **DSP Legal Sajid Cheema** informed the court that **Deputy Director Usman** was **wanted in a corruption case**, had already been **arrested**, placed on **physical remand**, and his **statement under Section 161** had also been recorded.
Cheema told the court that Usman had submitted a **written statement** claiming he had gone into hiding himself due to an ongoing inquiry. He is accused of **accepting Rs150 million in bribes from a TikToker**.
The police requested the court to **dispose of the recovery petition**, stating the matter had now become part of a criminal investigation.
However, **the petitioner’s counsel, Rizwan Abbasi**, opposed the request, arguing that the case could not be dismissed so easily. He claimed that Usman had been **kept in illegal detention for 15 days**, and only after the court issued orders for his recovery was a **fake FIR registered and he was presented in Lahore**. Abbasi urged the court to summon **the DG FIA in person** and to have **Usman produced before the Islamabad High Court**.
Justice **Azam Khan** remarked that since an FIR had already been registered and Usman was on physical remand in Lahore — where he also resides — summoning him to Islamabad would not be appropriate.
Abbasi countered that **Usman had been abducted from Islamabad**, providing **video evidence of the kidnapping**, and that his **wife was still in hiding due to fear**. He alleged that the **police had lied to the court** and that **Usman’s statement was fabricated**, written by someone else after he was **forced to sign blank papers**.
The lawyer further claimed that this was a **pattern seen in several cases** — individuals were abducted, held in illegal custody, and later shown as formally arrested. He questioned under what authority the **DG FIA** could be involved in such abductions.
DSP Legal maintained that **Usman had accepted Rs150 million from a TikToker**, to which the defense lawyer replied: *“Whether he took Rs150 million or Rs500 million, punish him according to the law — but do it legally.”*
After hearing arguments from both sides, the **Islamabad High Court reserved its verdict** on the petition.
