KP Chief Minister Sohail Afridi Finalizes Initial Priority Agenda

PESHAWAR: Newly elected Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Sohail Afridi has finalized the provincial government’s initial priority agenda soon after assuming office.
According to sources, the agenda focuses on three key areas: restoring peace in the province, improving governance, and accelerating efforts for the release of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan.
CM Afridi held a high-level consultative meeting in Islamabad with senior PTI leaders, including provincial president Junaid Akbar, former National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser, Atif Khan, Shahram Tarakai, and others. After detailed discussions, the initial agenda for the provincial government was finalized.
Under the plan, the chief minister will take immediate measures to strengthen law and order, introduce administrative reforms, and enhance the efficiency of the provincial governance system.
Additionally, it was decided to intensify both legal and political efforts for Imran Khan’s release. Party insiders indicated that a major reshuffle in the provincial bureaucracy and at the district level is expected, with the aim of appointing competent and active officers to key positions.
Further consultations between the chief minister and party leadership are also planned to develop a comprehensive strategy for implementing the agenda. CM Sohaib Afridi is expected to present the finalized plan for formal approval in the first meeting of the provincial cabinet next week.
