PML-N Announces Withdrawal from Azad Kashmir Government

Islamabad: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has announced its decision to withdraw from the government in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

President of PML-N Azad Kashmir, Shah Ghulam Qadir, stated that while the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has the democratic right to move a no-confidence motion, the PML-N will not be part of any new government that may emerge from it.

He emphasized that the party will not participate in any “unnatural” coalition setup and will now sit in the opposition benches. “Any member who deviates from the party policy will face disciplinary action,” he warned.

Qadir added that the formation of a stable government in AJK is only possible through transparent general elections. He noted that the PML-N in Azad Kashmir remains committed to the welfare of refugees and overseas Kashmiris and has emerged as an organized and popular political force.

He further said that the party would continue to play a constructive role in resolving the ongoing constitutional and political crisis in the region. “A strong government in Azad Kashmir can only be established through fair elections. Under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif, we will launch a vigorous election campaign,” Shah Ghulam Qadir concluded.
