Early Dismissal in Karachi Educational Institutions Amid Protest Rumors; Police Issue Clarification

Karachi: Several schools, colleges, and universities in Karachi were dismissed early on Monday amid widespread social media rumors of citywide protests. However, Karachi police have issued a strong statement denying reports of any ongoing demonstrations.

According to police officials, no protests are currently taking place in any part of the city, and citizens have been urged not to pay attention to unverified information circulating online. Authorities warned that strict action will be taken against any violation of **Section 144**, which prohibits public gatherings.

Heavy contingents of police have been deployed at key locations across the city, and officials say they are fully prepared to respond to any possible unrest.

Police confirmed that in **New Karachi**, a group of protesters was dispersed, and at least **10 individuals** involved in rioting were arrested. Cases are being registered, and those inciting violence will face legal action.

In contrast, **Korangi District** remains calm, with no demonstrations reported. All roads, businesses, and markets in the area are functioning normally.

According to an **SSP Korangi spokesperson**, citizens are advised to ignore false or unverified claims and to report any emergency immediately to **15 Madadgar Police**, assuring that law enforcement is on full alert for public safety.

Meanwhile, **SSP Central** stated that police successfully thwarted attempts by **Tehreek-e-Labbaik** supporters to hold protests in parts of New Karachi. After brief clashes involving stone-pelting and arson near **Sindhi Hotel** and **Four K Chowrangi**, police used tear gas to disperse the mob and restore order.

The situation in New Karachi is now under full police control, traffic flow has been restored, and additional forces remain deployed in the area to prevent any further disturbance.
