Nationwide Anti-Smuggling Crackdown: Drugs Worth Rs8.4 Million Seized

Islamabad: Authorities have seized narcotics valued at over Rs8.4 million during a nationwide anti-smuggling crackdown led by the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF).

According to an ANF spokesperson, six operations were carried out across different cities and near educational institutions, resulting in the arrest of four suspects and the recovery of 83 kilograms of narcotics.

In Islamabad, 300 grams of crystal meth (ice) were recovered from a vehicle near the motorway toll plaza. The arrested suspect reportedly confessed to supplying drugs to students of educational institutions.

In Multan, ANF personnel discovered 120 grams of cocaine hidden inside cream jars in a parcel that had arrived from Scotland at a courier office.

Meanwhile, in Pishin, 65 kilograms of hashish were recovered from a vehicle parked near a hotel, and the suspect was apprehended on the spot. In another operation near the Qutbal Toll Plaza in Attock, 9.6 kilograms of hashish were seized from a car. Additionally, ANF officials recovered 6 kilograms of opium from a motorcyclist on Peshawar’s Ring Road and 2.31 kilograms of opium from a parcel that arrived from Peshawar at a Rawalpindi courier office.

The ANF spokesperson said that all cases have been registered under the Anti-Narcotics Act of 1997, and further investigations are underway.
