Houseplants Could Be Slowing Down Your Wi-Fi, Study Finds

ISLAMABAD: A new study has revealed that houseplants may be responsible for reducing Wi-Fi speed at home.
According to researchers at UK-based company *Broadband Genie*, moving a Wi-Fi router away from indoor plants can boost internet speed by more than one-third.
Experts explained that moist soil and greenery in plants can either absorb signals or deflect them, weakening coverage.
Peter Ames, a specialist at the company, said researchers were surprised to discover how much simply keeping plants away from the router could improve Wi-Fi performance.
The study further noted that walls, ceilings, and even neighboring Wi-Fi networks can also disrupt connectivity.
