PIA–PCB MoU on the Cards: Interesting Exchange Between Arif Habib and Mohsin Naqvi

**Islamabad (Qudrat Daily):**
Arif Habib, the buyer of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), has expressed optimism that both the national airline and the Pakistan cricket team will achieve new heights together.

Speaking informally at the end of the privatization ceremony while receiving congratulations, Arif Habib turned to Interior Minister and Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Mohsin Naqvi, who was standing nearby, and confidently remarked that both PIA and the Pakistan cricket team would make significant progress in the future.

Responding to this, Mohsin Naqvi said that the first Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) would be signed between PIA and the Pakistan Cricket Board. At this point, another person standing close by jokingly added that the second MoU would be with the Ministry of Interior, prompting Mohsin Naqvi to quip that they were already working together.

Mohsin Naqvi further stated that the day marked a victory for Pakistan, adding that everyone was looking ahead with hope and optimism, and that a new journey for PIA was expected to begin.

The Interior Minister also congratulated the Prime Minister, the Adviser on Privatization, and other concerned officials on the successful completion of the PIA privatization process.

It is worth noting that in the bidding held today, the Arif Habib Consortium successfully acquired 75 percent shares of PIA with a bid of Rs 135 billion.
