Uzma Bukhari Urges PPP to Compete on Performance, Not Allegations

Lahore: Punjab Information Minister Uzma Bukhari has said that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) should refrain from blame games and instead compete on the basis of performance.
Speaking on a private TV program, Bukhari stated that the PPP feels threatened by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s “remarkable performance.” She added that while constructive advice from coalition partners is welcome, the PPP has resorted to politics instead of offering meaningful suggestions.
“We are not taking foreign aid, so why is there unnecessary pressure? It is completely inappropriate for one province to interfere in another’s administrative matters for political mileage,” she remarked.
She pointed out that during the floods in Sindh, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) did not issue political statements, yet the PPP is now engaging in point-scoring in Punjab.
Bukhari reiterated that the PML-N and PPP coalition is currently delivering stability and progress for the country, stressing that the real competition should be based on governance and results, not allegations.
