ACC President Mohsin Naqvi Expresses Disappointment Over India’s Sportsmanship Breach

Dubai: Asian Cricket Council (ACC) President and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has strongly reacted to India’s refusal to follow post-match traditions during the Asia Cup clash against Pakistan.

In a statement shared on social media, Naqvi expressed **deep disappointment** over India’s conduct, saying:

> “Dragging politics into sports goes against the true spirit of the game. We hope that future victories are celebrated by all teams with grace and dignity.”

The controversy arose during the **Pakistan-India Asia Cup T20 match in Dubai**, where the Indian team **declined the customary handshake** with Pakistani players both at the toss and after the match.

According to PCB, team manager **Naveed Akram Cheema** officially lodged a protest with the match referee, terming India’s behavior as a clear violation of sportsmanship.

In solidarity, Pakistani captain **Salman Ali Agha** also **boycotted the closing ceremony**, with sources suggesting the decision was influenced by the fact that the event presenter was of Indian origin.

The incident has sparked widespread debate, with cricketing circles calling for the preservation of sports ethics above political tensions.
