Ishaq Dar Rules Out Need for 27th Constitutional Amendment, Says Economy Stabilizing Under Shehbaz Sharif

London:Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar** has said that the **country is progressing well** and there is **no need for a 27th constitutional amendment** at present. Speaking to journalists in London, Dar remarked,
> “We are still digesting the 26th amendment — there’s no need for a 27th.”
He claimed that **economic stability and improvement** have been achieved under the leadership of **Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif**, and that the government’s performance has been **exemplary** so far.
During his visit, Ishaq Dar met with **UK Parliamentary Under Secretary Hamish Falconer**, where both discussed ways to **enhance bilateral relations and strategic cooperation** between **Pakistan and the United Kingdom**. The meeting emphasized the importance of **deepening ties across various sectors**.
Dar also reiterated the need for a **peaceful resolution of the Kashmir issue** in accordance with **United Nations Security Council resolutions**, highlighting it as a long-standing international dispute requiring global attention.
In addition, the Deputy PM **inaugurated two new public service initiatives** at the **Pakistan High Commission in London** — namely:
* **Land Record Services**, enabling overseas Pakistanis to access property documentation.
* **One-Window Passport Processing System**, aimed at expediting and simplifying passport issuance.
These services are part of the government’s broader agenda to **facilitate overseas Pakistanis** and **modernize consular operations** abroad.
