U.S. Lawmakers Extend Independence Day Greetings to Pakistan, Praise Bilateral Ties and Pakistani-Americans

WASHINGTON, D.C:On the occasion of Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day, several prominent U.S. lawmakers and political figures extended warm greetings to the people of Pakistan, recognizing the country’s role in counterterrorism, trade, and its growing contributions in emerging sectors.

**U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio** congratulated the Pakistani nation, acknowledging its role in counterterrorism and trade cooperation. He emphasized the United States’ desire to expand collaboration with Pakistan in **critical minerals, hydrocarbons, and new economic sectors**, noting that strong business ties will help foster a prosperous future for both Americans and Pakistanis.

**Senator Chris Van Hollen**, who was born in Karachi, expressed his personal connection with Pakistan.

> “Throughout my life, I have witnessed the generosity, resilience, and kindness of the Pakistani people,” he said, highlighting his lifelong appreciation for the country.

**Congressman Mike Carey** sent best wishes to the Pakistani people, stating:
