Medina Reclaims “Healthy City” Status by WHO

Medina, Saudi Arabia:has once again been awarded the prestigious “Healthy City” status by the **World Health Organization (WHO)** after meeting 80 of the organization’s standards.
The city’s achievement places it among other Saudi cities, including **Taif, Tabuk**, and **Al-Dar’iyah**, which have also earned this recognition.
Medina’s **Governor Prince Salman bin Sultan** received the official WHO certification from the Minister of Health, confirming the city’s status. This is the second time Medina has earned this honor, the first being in **2019**.
Prince Salman bin Sultan expressed that this recognition reflects the leadership’s dedication to improving the quality of life for its residents. “Medina’s ongoing transformation is making it a prominent model for development, both regionally and internationally,” he added.
This certification reinforces Saudi Arabia’s commitment to improving public health standards and promoting sustainable urban development across the kingdom.
