Government Decides to Accept Hajj Applications from Unregistered Pilgrims

Islamabad: In a move aimed at accommodating more applicants for Hajj 2026, the government has decided to accept applications from unregistered pilgrims. The decision comes after concerns that the quota for registered pilgrims might remain unfilled.
According to reports, there is a risk that out of the 450,000 registered pilgrims, 150,000 may not apply for Hajj. In response, the Ministry of Religious Affairs has decided to allow unregistered pilgrims to submit their applications.
Applications for registered pilgrims will begin on Monday, August 4. Registered pilgrims will be able to submit their applications under the government scheme from August 4 to August 9.
Unregistered pilgrims will have the opportunity to submit their applications from August 11 to August 16. The applications will be accepted on a “first-come, first-served” basis.
For the 38 to 42-day Hajj package, applicants will need to pay an initial fee of 500,000 rupees. Meanwhile, for the shorter 20 to 25-day Hajj option, an advance of 550,000 rupees will be required.
Applications for Hajj can be submitted at 14 designated banks across the country, and the second installment of Hajj expenses will be collected on November 1.
