Over 22,000 Illegal Migrants Arrested in Saudi Arabia in One Week

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Interior announced that over 22,000 illegal migrants were arrested in the past week for violating various immigration and labor laws.
According to the Ministry, 13,835 individuals were apprehended for violating residency laws. In addition, 4,772 individuals were arrested for attempting to illegally cross the border, while 3,540 migrants were detained for breaching labor regulations.
In a separate development, the Ministry also revealed that during July 2025, investigations were conducted into corruption cases involving 425 government employees. As a result, 142 individuals were arrested on corruption charges.
Saudi authorities have been consistently cracking down on illegal immigration and corruption as part of efforts to maintain law and order and strengthen the integrity of government institutions.
