KP Senate Elections: Government and Opposition Decide to Contest Together, Says Talha Mahmood

Islamabad: Talha Mahmood, the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) candidate for the Senate, has announced that if the disgruntled candidates of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) do not withdraw, both the government and opposition will contest the elections together.
In the upcoming Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Senate elections, the government and opposition parties have decided to join forces and fight against candidates who refuse to withdraw their nomination papers.
Talha Mahmood, while speaking to Geo News, stated that a meeting between the government and opposition parties concluded with a decision to contest the elections jointly. The meeting was attended by PTI leaders, including Ali Amin Gandapur, along with other party representatives.
He further mentioned that leaders from PPP, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) also participated in the discussions. According to Mahmood, the government would secure 6 seats, while the opposition would secure 5 seats in the Senate elections.
