Opposition Leader Shibli Faraz Remains Under Treatment for Cardiac Issues, Doctors Consider Open-Heart Surgery

Peshawar: Senate Opposition Leader Shibli Faraz is still undergoing treatment at a hospital due to cardiac complications, with doctors now considering the possibility of open-heart surgery.
According to Express News, the senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader has been hospitalized for the past two days. A steady stream of party colleagues and other political figures have been visiting him to inquire about his health.
Hospital sources report that doctors are awaiting the results of several critical medical tests before making a final decision on surgery. These tests take time, and any future treatment plan will depend on their outcomes.
Doctors have expressed concern over Faraz’s elevated blood pressure, which currently makes it difficult to proceed with any invasive procedures. It has also been revealed that one of his major coronary arteries is affected by a condition known as “muscle bridge,” which is rare and can lead to chest pain and an increased risk of heart attack due to arterial obstruction.
Medical experts have advised the 67-year-old leader to take complete rest. Faraz has reportedly been a heart patient for the past seven years and has already undergone angiography three times in Islamabad.
A team of ten specialist doctors from the Peshawar Institute of Cardiology is overseeing his treatment. Faraz was admitted to the hospital late at night two days ago after experiencing severe discomfort.
