Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government Launches Ehsaas Apna Ghar Scheme with Interest-Free Loans

Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, has officially launched the implementation of the Ehsaas Apna Ghar Scheme. The scheme aims to provide interest-free loans to low-income individuals to help them build their homes.
In a major development, the provincial government began the distribution of interest-free loans, marking the successful start of the Ehsaas Apna Ghar Scheme. During a special ceremony held at the Chief Minister’s House, Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur was the guest of honor and distributed loan cheques to successful applicants.
An amount of 4 billion rupees has been allocated for providing these interest-free loans, ensuring transparency through a computerized lottery system. Loans will be offered to individuals between the ages of 18 and 65, with a monthly income of less than 150,000 rupees. The loans can be as high as 1.5 million rupees, which will be repaid in easy installments over a period of seven years.
The scheme has already received a significant response, with 123,000 applications being submitted. Out of these, 18,555 applications met the eligibility criteria. The loans are being distributed on a population-based quota, ensuring fair representation from all districts of the province.
Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur emphasized that the Ehsaas Apna Ghar Scheme is a flagship project of the provincial government and part of Prime Minister Imran Khan’s vision to provide housing for low-income families. He further stated that the province has now become economically self-sufficient, thanks to the tireless efforts of the government, and promised to continue expanding resources to meet the needs of the people.
He also announced that the government would soon launch a solar system project for deserving households. He assured the public that transparency and merit would be the cornerstone of both the Ehsaas Apna Ghar and Solar schemes.
Ali Amin Gandapur also highlighted the issue of the prevalent culture of favoritism, which undermines public trust in government initiatives. He assured that his government was working to eradicate this culture and provide high-quality residential facilities to the people.
