Islamabad Traffic Police to Use Drones to Enforce Traffic Laws

Islamabad: In a significant move to enforce traffic laws more efficiently, Islamabad Traffic Police has decided to use drone technology to monitor and penalize traffic violations. The new initiative will be implemented on the capital’s busiest roads.
According to reports, drone cameras will be deployed on key roads to monitor traffic and identify violations in real-time. Once a violation is detected, the offender will be immediately issued a fine.
The Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) of Islamabad stated that drones will initially be used on the Expressway and Srinagar Highway, two of the city’s most congested routes. In the next phase, this technology will be expanded to cover other sectors and major roads throughout the capital.
Sayed Zeeshan Haider, CTO Islamabad, emphasized that drones will also help identify traffic congestion at peak hours. Special response teams will be deployed to address issues as soon as they are flagged by the drone cameras.
The decision to use modern technology aims to ensure stricter enforcement of traffic regulations and reduce violations across Islamabad’s roads.
