Nawabzada Haji Mir Lashkari Raisani Criticizes Political Monopoly in Balochistan, Advocates for Unified Leadership

Quetta:Senior politician and former Senator Nawabzada Haji Mir Lashkari Raisani has asserted that he has never compromised the future of upcoming generations for temporary power. He emphasized that power should never be sought at the expense of one’s people and their rights. In a meeting with a delegation of editors, led by Anwar Sajidi, President of the Daily Newspapers Editors Council Balochistan and Senior Vice President of the Council of Pakistan Newspapers Editors, at Sarawan House, Raisani outlined his views on the current political situation in Balochistan.

He declared that his politics was for the people of Balochistan and not for personal gain, asserting, “Politics is not about personal benefit; it is about serving the public. The people of Balochistan must sacrifice personal interests for the collective good of the nation.” Raisani criticized the imposition of political “orphans” in Balochistan, referring to individuals without roots or principles who have been elevated to power. He accused political parties of “monopolizing” national politics and hindering social change, preventing any real progress for the people of the province.

Raisani further emphasized that he had never traded the future of Balochistan’s children for temporary political gains, stressing that power had always come to him naturally. “I knock on the doors of voters; I will continue to knock on their doors in the future,” he asserted. His remarks reflected his enduring connection to the people of Balochistan and his unwavering stance on fighting for their rights.

Highlighting the challenges faced by Balochistan in the past elections, Raisani pointed out that he had been consistently sidelined in the 2013, 2018, and upcoming 2024 elections. He also mentioned that the verdict for his 2018 election case had yet to be delivered. Despite these setbacks, he declared, “I never compromised the future of our next generations for five years of temporary power.”

Raisani accused political parties of engaging in “minus-Balochistan” politics, undermining the province’s future. He criticized the legislative actions that had removed key assets from the province, including the cancellation of the winter capital status for Gwadar and the passing of the DHA Act, which he claimed disregarded the region’s interests. He also condemned the sale of the Reko Diq project, which he described as a lost opportunity for future prosperity.

He called upon political activists to rise above corruption and the entrenched monopolies in national politics, warning that the future could be even more challenging for the people of Balochistan unless meaningful action was taken. “If political workers do not play their part now, the future will be worse than the present, and our future generations will face even greater crises.”

Raisani reiterated that Balochistan is not just an administrative province but a national entity, with issues that go beyond class distinctions. He spoke of the encroachment on land in Balochistan through “fake legislation” and stressed the need for unity among all communities, including Baloch, Pashtun, settlers, and Hazara, to safeguard the future. “We must unite these groups to create a strong and collective voice that can defend our future from crisis,” he added.

In closing, Raisani expressed confidence that a capable leader would emerge to fill the political vacuum in Balochistan, calling for a unified effort from the youth and political workers to unite and fight for the province’s rights. “The future lies in the hands of the youth, and together we will build a better future for Balochistan,” he concluded.
